When you purchase a Four Beat Farms horse you Adopt a Special Part of our Family.
We don't sell alot of horses. We have no desire to be the biggest farm or breeder. We prefer to keep things small and hands on with our guys. We are very attached to all our horses and only want to match them with the best possible home and situation. Feel free to ask questions and more questions. We want to make sure the horse fits the rider before it leaves our farm. All our time and efforts are a waste if the fit is not a good one! Horses are only sold to approved homes.
Our Horses are Not Bombproof and are Not Perfect. It takes a Perfect Rider to Own a Perfect Horse. I have never met either.
We strive to sell a healthy, beautiful, willing horse that will hopefully adapt to their new rider and allow both years and years of safe companionship and fun together. Every Relationship takes time and effort from both sides.
Each Horse at our farm has a current coggins and has been vaccinated. They are all up to date on their worming schedules and see a Farrier on a regular basis.
I have Health Record Sheets for each horse. This information will be forwarded to their new owner and is available for review to interested buyers.

Testimonials from New Owners of Our Horses and Customers Here at the Farm...........
We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for allowing us to purchase Eye Candy. You represented yourself very honestly and non pushy, and we are so thankful for your knowledge of the Rocky Mountain & Kentucky Mountain breed. When we left your stables, we knew that Eye Candy was the exact horse for us. You were able to match us to the perfect horse. Just to mention a few great attributes that Eye Candy has…. He stands perfectly still while mounting and dismounting, his personality is superb, he has perfect conformation, and his rare coloring is a wow factor. He desires to please you in every way, has a smooth ride, and a wonderful four beat gait. This proves what wonderful training and love he has received. He is truly a real sweetheart. Eye Candy has adjusted very well to his new home. We recommend Four Beat Farms to anyone that is looking for that one true horse. When you see tears from the owner and trainer during the process of the sale, you truly know you have just bought something really special.
Hi Patty: I know I haven't been in touch regularly, but that's because I'm too busy enjoying Spirit. When I first contacted you, I said I needed a short, calm, very sensible trail horse in order to continue riding as my Parkinson's disease progresses. Just Kentucky's Unbridled Spirit is all of that and more. She stands like a statue while I put her tack on and mount, all of which takes longer when you have a "shaky" right side She seems to take everything in stride; she examines each new thing with interest but not fear. This morning my husband took his huge mower out to mow for the first time this year; she did not even flinch when I rode her within three feet of it while it was running. She has been steady around everything. The rest of my time has gone into grooming; she is very friendly and loves to be brushed. With her good looks I know she is going to attract attention on the trails. I also want to thank you for all of your suggestions ( I've tried to follow them all), and for all the time you spent on the trails with me on that miserable, cold morning when we bought her. Thanks so much for matching me with a horse that will allow me to continue to do what I love. Warm regards, Candy April 2011
Having one Mountain horse already, I was ready to buy another one. I simply adore their sweet, people-loving personalities! Having heard nothing but good things about Four Beat Farms, I called Patty to see if she might have a horse for me. I have to say, it was an awesome experience! Four Beat Farms is a wonderful family-run farm. Not only does Patty know her horses, she wants YOU to know them too. It says a lot when a horse owner/seller cares about where his/her horses go after they are sold and Patty makes sure that you are comfortable and happy with your selection. She is terrific at helping you to choose a horse that works for you, and she went above and beyond to do so in my case. I visited with each horse during my visit and, while each had their own distinct personality, every one of them was gorgeous, friendly, calm, and well-mannered. Patty's no-pressure approach allowed me to take all the time I needed to make sure I was happy with my decision. My horse is everything Patty said he would be and he's fit right into our family. I probably won't be buying another horse for a while (famous last words), but I sure know where to go when that time comes! Robin Uberbacher Lenoir City, TN February 2011
HI PATTY, I JUST WANTED TO THANK YOU FOR BEING SO EXTREMELY HELPFUL, STRAIGHT FORWARD & HONEST WHEN MY FAMILY & I WERE SHOPPING FOR OUR HORSE. WE HAD QUITE A FEW PREVIOUS BAD EXPERIENCES WITH OTHER HORSE BREEDERS, & HORSE TRADERS BEING TOTALLY DISHONEST WITH US TO THE POINT THAT THEY WOULD HAVE PUT MYSELF AND CHILDREN IN HARMS WAY WITH SOME OF THEIR HORSES FOR SALE. YOU PROVED BY FAR TO HAVE PUT THEM ALL TO SHAME WITH YOUR NON-PUSHY APPROACH, HONESTY, AND JUST BEING ABLE TO MATCH THAT PERFECT HORSE WITH IT'S RIDER! EVERYTHING YOU SAID, YOU DELIVERED ON! I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW MUCH THAT MEANS TO US, ESPECIALLY SINCE WE FLEW FROM CALIFORNIA TO LOOK FOR THAT PERFECT HORSE. TO OUR HAPPY SURPRISE WE ENDED UP FINDING NOT 1, BUT 2 WONDERFUL HORSES. WE'RE TRUELY ENJOYING BOTH C.D. AND ROCKY. I ALSO WANT TO THANK YOU FOR KEEPING IN TOUCH, AND FOR PROMPTLY ANSWERING ALL OF MY E-MAIL QUESTIONS. YOU HAVE GONE ABOVE AND BEYOND, EVEN AFTER THE SALE! WE WILL CERTAINLY KEEP IN TOUCH, SEND YOU MORE PHOTOS, AND WHO KNOWS, MAYBE END UP BUYING ANOTHER PERFECT HORSE FROM YOU AND FOUR BEAT FARMS. ALL THE BEST, MARIA October 2008
HI PATTY HOPE ALL IS WELL! I WANT TO THANK YOU, YOU WERE RIGHT MARIA IS GAINING HER CONFIDENCE BACK ON RIDING. SHE LOVES CD TO DEATH AND IS SO PROUD OF HIM. SHE LOVES TO PARADE HIM AROUND THE BARN! SHE HAS LOTS OF LADIES COMPLIMENTING HER ON HER HORSE, SHE LOVES THAT. THANK YOU! RON October 2008
The best thing to happen to me in the 10 years I have owned horses was to find Four Beat Farms and my Kentucky Mountain Horse, Rockin Mo. Rockin Mo is everything a Kentucky Mountain Horse is suppose to be. He's sweet, easy to manage and always willing to do what you ask of him. When I was looking for a new horse Patty went out of her way to help me get Rockin Mo after a disappointing expierence with another Mountain Horse Breeder. In addition, she is always available to answer any questions I might have, even two years after I bought Rockin Mo. If I ever get lucky enough to own a second horse, I will not go anywhere but Four Beat Farms. They truly care about promoting the Mountain Horses, and producing the finest quality horses, whether for showing or for trail riding. Betty Toledo, Ohio 2004
My wife and I had purchased a Kentucky Mountain mare from another farm and we had over time become increasingly dissatisfied with her manners both under saddle and on the ground. We decided that she would either “learn better manners or move to a different home”.Since we ride for pleasure only it is very important that when we ride it is pleasurable, which had definitely not been the case.Rylee (our mare) seemed stubborn and strong willed but not mean, however, she is a big girl and in her willfulness could hurt someone unintentionally. It is not unusual for us to have lots of young children at our home and a horse that bordered on “out of control” was not acceptable.
Enter Patty Beaty and Four Beat Farms; my concern was that since Patty had obviously been successful at training “show horses”, she might not be as effective training a horse for purely pleasure; I was wrong.Patty did a marvelous job of working with Rylee and giving us back a horse that was completely changed. She now has very nice ground manners and is a dream to ride! There is still the occasional strong willed resistance but, as soon as she is corrected things go back to the nice clam demeanor.Patty truly loves horses and I also believe understands them which together produce a very effective trainer. She is firm but not abusive in any way and the horses learn to respect her commands.I would highly recommend Patty to anyone with a horse needing either starting, refinement or any other training requirements. We also enjoyed all of our interactions with Patty and her family, so we actually made some new friends.I will definitely have more horses for Patty and 4 Beat Farms to train!
Rylee now stands tied far better than before, cross ties for tacking and washing, loads (never was a problem) and unloads (was a major problem), stands at steps for mounting, and responds well to light rein pressure. She has a big motor but is easily controlled to an easy 4 beat gait which is a joy to ride.

Patty, When a decision was made to buy a horse back in August of 2006 I was determined that it would be an informed decision so I purchased several books and began reading. I was not new to horses because fifteen years ago I owned an Appy and a Quarterhorse. I just wanted to make the right decision. Two years previous I had suffered from Guillain-Barre Syndrome and have been left with some minor disabilities which made the selection of the right horse very important. When I started my research I hardly knew what a gaited horse was. My reading took me to the advantage of a gaited horse, particularly, for people who need a smooth ride like myself. I am also seventy years old. I traveled about ten thousand kilometers looking at and riding horses. I looked at hundreds on the internet and spoke with many people and watched many videos. When I first saw Who's Your Daddy from Four Beat Farms I thought the price tag way out of my range. I had not purchased a horse in over twenty years and I think I paid a max of $700 for a registered horse. I did, however, know that I needed a good horse that was going to look after me and not be a problem. After eight months of searching I visited Patty Beaty at Four Beat Farms. Who's Your Daddy was by far the best behaved, best gaited and best looking horse I had seen. I looked at gaited horses who did not gait well or other horses with issues from previous owners. Daddy returned the love and affection that he had received at Four Beat from the day of his arrival. His health was excellent. Although I looked at other horses, it was obvious that Daddy was the guy. It was an easy decision. We had him shipped directly from Loudon, Tn to Sioux Lookout, Ontario, a distance of fourteen hundred miles. When he arrived he walked off the trailer like he was looking for a place to get saddled up and ride. He has proven to be everything we hoped he would be. He handles well, gaits well and is very sensible on the trail. I am thankful that I have a life time companion who I can spend a lot of my retirement years with while riding the trails of Northwestern Ontario. Thank you Patty at Four Beat Farms. Your service and honesty are to be admired. You made buying an excellent horse very easy. Who's Your Daddy has turned out to be worth every penny I have invested in him. I highly recommend Four Beat Farms for anyone looking for a well behaved and well trained horse. Howard B. Lockhart Sioux Lookout, Ontario Canada 2007
I have owned a Kentucky Mountain Gelding for several years and when I was considering adding a mare to our stable I first thought of the Mountain horse breed. I knew I wanted another Mountain Horse due to their excellent disposition and intelligence. Fortunately, I met Patty and Bobby Beaty-Owners of Four Beat Farm, at a horse campground in East Tennessee. I told Patty of my interest in a Mountain Mare and asked if she had one. To my good fortune she did. I went to her farm a few days later and she introduced me to Just Kentucky's Unbridled Spirit. She is a chocolate beauty with a golden mane and tail that is almost as beautiful as her daddy's. I was impressed with the horse and with the way she and Patty interacted. Patty and the mare trusted and respected one another. This type of relationship can only be developed over time with lots of training, care and love and permeates everything I saw and learned about Four Beat Farms. If you are looking for a confident and respectful Rocky or Kentucky Mountain horse for the trail or arena, I strongly recommend you contact Four Beat Farms. Nice Horses and Exceptionally Nice People!

Our family stumbled across the mountain horse breeds while searching for a kid friendly horse. After researching the breed further we decided that this was the breed for us. We found a beautiful chocolate three year old Kentucky Mountain mare that had not yet been started under saddle and then began the difficult task of finding the perfect trainer for our very mild mannered girl. We had always heard about the traditional rough handling make ‘em do it your way trainers and knew this was not what we wanted for our girl. After researching the mountain horse websites, we found the Beatys’ farm and learned that they breed, train and are also examiners of mountain horse breeds. We contacted Patty to make arrangements to visit Four Beat Farms. What a wonderful decision! Long story short, Patty and Lauren worked with our mare (and us) and we couldn’t be more pleased. We truly felt that our horse was treated as one of their own. All of the horses at the barn are well mannered and in wonderful shape with beautiful healthy coats. The horses truly seemed happy and responded well to what was requested of them training wise. We were so happy with our visit and subsequent experience at Four Beat Farms that we also signed our kids up for riding lessons. Imagine our surprise when the lesson horse came out of his stall. CD, the lesson horse, or as we call him the gentle giant, is a beautiful chocolate gelding that is well over 15 hands. He took really good care of our kids and made their first horse experience a very positive one. The Beatys are wonderful to work with and have provided us with a wealth of information about the breed and horses in general. When we are ready to add our next mountain horse, we will certainly start with Four Beat Farms! Mark and Claudia Depew Maryville, Tennessee May 2008
Hi Patty, Just thought I would let you know how happy I am with Cable aka Larry the Cable Guy. Since I purchased him before Christmas I have ridden him at the beach, in the hills, in traffic. He is a dream to ride, his gait is sooooooo smooth. I enjoy him very much. When I get ready to purchase another Rocky, I will contact you first. Thanks for my wonderful horse and thanks for your help after the sale with the bit information. Dee Hazelton Santa Maria, California December 2006
Four Beat Farms:
I just had to write and tell you what a great experience we had at your farm and the horses that we purchased from you! Your experience in horsemanship and the bloodlines that your horses carry were exactly what we were looking for. The imprinting that you have given these colts is second to none and they will carry that for the lifetime of the horse. The transactions were very smooth and it was comforting to here all the information that you had given my husband and myself had come to pass and with much more ease.
It was truly a pleasure meeting you and your family and we have come to know them all and call them by name. I hope in the future you can come to us with anything you need and find the hospitality that we have found in you.
May God Bless your family, your farm, and those beautiful Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horses...Our Champions Come From Love....

As a professional full time horse transporter I come in contact with many horse owners, breeders and stables. I have hauled several times for Four Beat Farms and have found their horses to be very well behaved and with excellent ground manners. Their facility is first class in every way. "Just Kentucky" is about the nicest, most well mannered stud horse you could expect to find. Patty and her family are great people and I feel fortunate to count them as friends. Whether your are looking for an overnight layover, a well trained gaited horse, or an exceptional stud, Four Beat Farms is the place to go. My experience with Patty Beaty and Four Beat Farms was one of the most pleasant experiences that any horse buyer could ask for. It was an absolute pleasure to deal with her and I look forward to buying another horse from her again someday. My Horse TJ, whom I have now owned for 3 years, is the best horse anyone could possibly ask for! Having bought TJ online, and never actually seeing him other then in pictures, I relied on what I was hoping would be an honest seller. To this day I have never been sorry for my purchase or my dealings with Patty. TJ is a truly wonderful horse and is everything that she said he was and much more. I am truly thankful that Patty Beaty and Four Beat Farms are the respectable, honest and caring people that they are. I would, and have, recommended them to others whom are looking to buy.
Sincerely, Michele S. Bergquist Proud owner of TJ Otisville, Michigan September 2003 Email – email@example.com
Dear Patty, I have been meaning to write you for awhile....but am glad you have given me the opportunity. Cold Hard Truth is everything you represented him to be and more. Your ad stated that he was one of the most beautiful Rocky Mountain Horses ever born. Well, he is probably the most beautiful I have ever seen on the West Coast, certainly here is Santa Barbara, California. He turns more heads on the trail than any horse I have ever seen. Everyone wants to know what kind of horse the gorgeous dark chocolate with the white mane and tail is who carries himself so beautifully. He has never been anything but a perfect gentleman, is willing to try to do anything we ask of him, and always always has a kind heart and loving disposition. Thanks for keeping in touch, best wishes, Judy Anticouni Santa Barbara, California 2006
We were entirely new to horse ownership and very uncertain as to the type and quality of a Rocky Mountain Saddle Horse we were looking for. During our exploration we came upon Four Beat Farms on the web. Without the benefit of any past relationship, Patty Beaty lead us through our uncertainty about buying a new horse "sight unseen". Her insight and experience were invaluable to us. We developed a trust and confidence in her that led us through our decision. It was a trust well rewarded. Our horse was more than promised and was not over promoted in any fashion. Long after the sale and delivery, Patty continued to follow up with us to make sure we were happy and that the welfare of our horse was being attended to. I would buy another horse from her based solely upon her representations without any hesitancy. Gary Gamble Kathie Gamble Tarkio, Montana--2006
I went to visit "Four Beat Farms" for the soul purpose of finding out more about the "Rocky Mountain" horse breed. Patty and her family could not have been more inviting and enthusiastic about their four legged extended family. The "Rocky Mountain" horse seemed to be perfect for my needs. I was looking for an excellent trail horse, sure footed, smooth, intelligent and beautiful. Needless to say she fit me with the perfect mount. My horse has excellent ground manners, learns quickly, rides like silk and even the Farrier brags about his pleasant disposition. I realize that not every "Rocky Mountain "horse is a good trail horse but Patty listens to your needs and has a knack of matching you up to a horse that will be the ideal level for you….. this is worth a lot. If you are looking for a sound horse and do not want to go through the gamut of "I think this horse will be alright" than contact "Four Beat Farms" it is the ideal place to begin your search.
